Improvisational Recycling

I’ll have artwork hanging at Seattle Recreative. The show will hang May 1-31, with an opening reception on Friday, May 10 from 6-9 pm. The reception will be held in conjunction with PhinneyWood ArtWalk: The BIG One, with refreshments and the opportunity to visit local businesses in the Phinney/Greenwood area!

All pieces were created with recycled materials (including the batting, binding, and backing).

I’d love to see you there!

Save the date!

I am thrilled to announce that my piece Fractured Thoughts: My Mind on Motherhood was accepted to a national juried show!

The opening will be Friday, May 3 at Gallery Underground in Crystal City from 5-7 pm.

I hope you’ll have the chance to see the piece while it hangs!

Gallery Underground is a great space and the openings are always fun! Plus it’s bike and transit friendly, with a CaBi station and bike racks out front, and direct indoor metro access.

Thanks for all of your support!

Improv Minis

I created these improv minis based on the Mojo Mini series by Suzy Williams. I used scraps from a larger project for both the fronts and the backs, upcycling to create a one-of-a-kind piece! I used both traditional piecing and raw edge applique in this series. The free motion quilting was also improv, and I quilted as I went along, often tracing and retracing a line several times.

The pieces are all ready to be hung with a hidden dowel, tucked into a pocket on the back.

You can purchase these pieces in my shop!
